Every year our students raise funds for the Leukemia Lymphoma Foundation of Illinois. We recently had our kickoff rally for our goal of $3,333. If we reach this goal, our students get to duct tape Principal Olesky! Together we can make a difference an help combat Leukemia and Lymphoma. THE TEAM TO TURN IN THE MOST BOX TOPS WINS!
We’ve organized our school into teams to see who can turn in the most Box Tops the fastest between now and October 1st. Bring your Box tops into school labeled with your child’s name and classroom so we can credit your team. The Winning team will receive a prize for the class and teacher! This year, our school’s earnings goal is $1000 dollars and each Box Tops clip you bring in will help us reach it. Check out our bulletin board each week on the first floor to see where your team is. Your team will move forward a space on the board for every 25 Box Tops it brings in. Note please make sure to check the expiring dates on the box tops. Expired box tops do not count. You can clip Box Tops from over 250 products. For a complete list of products, go to BTFE.com/products. Good luck…. And let the games begin. Parents,
Do NOT buy supplies for your child this year! Columbus is providing all of them. We ask that you donate the following:
Dear Columbus Families,
Greetings and welcome to Columbus Elementary School, home of the Sharks! I am thrilled that you decided to view our school’s website in order to learn more about the wonderful students, staff and programs we have to offer. Columbus Elementary has established a tradition of excellence and we will continue to strive to become the best. As you enter our website, you will notice that all of our teachers have created and maintain a webpage to keep parents abreast of news relevant to their classrooms. Many are new to this, so your patience as we learn is greatly appreciated. We are committed to providing innovative lessons to our students, incorporating technology in order to meet the needs of the 21st century learner. Our school community is dedicated to providing our students with a well-rounded educational experience. While the core curriculum is provided for all students, we believe that it is critical to provide leadership opportunities, social emotional support and exposure to the technologies in order to prepare students to compete with their global counterparts. We encourage you to visit our awesome little school and see that we are a school committed to children. You will find that this is a vibrant and engaging community of teachers and learners. To our parents, we believe that your involvement is an essential component to the academic success of your child. I encourage you to visit our website often, meet your child’s teacher and to get engaged in all that Columbus has to offer. Your participation in our school is needed and greatly appreciated! I look forward to working with you this year. Sincerely, Mrs. Wendy Garr-Oleksy Principal [email protected] |
