Quick Reference

Arrival on Augusta through the playground
Please plan to arrive at 7:40 am to ensure your child has time for their temperature check and verification that the health screener was completed. Students will be led to their classroom. Other adults will be in the hallways to assist and classroom teachers will meet students outside and bring them in. Remind your child to ask for help if they need it.

Dismissal Augusta through the playground
DO NOT DOUBLE PARK ON AUGUSTA. DO NOT ARRIVE EARLY AND PARK ON AUGUSTA. IF YOU NEED TO, DRIVE AROUND. Pick-up will be at 2:45 at Augusta and the playground entrance. For safety purposes, please wait in your cars for your child to be dismissed. We will bring your child to you. We appreciate you communicating this to anyone on your approved pick-up list. Please send your teacher an email if you need to chat. Teachers will not linger due to social distancing protocols at dismissal but are happy to set up a time to meet virtually.

Masks: Please review with your child the appropriate way to wear a mask in school, and what might be a good reason to change it. (Wet or dirty) Masks are to fit properly, and be worn over the mouth and nose.

Sick Policy:  We ask that parents PLEASE keep your child at home if they are displaying the following symptoms:
  • A fever of 100.4  degrees or above
  • Nausea or vomiting
  • Chills
  • Cough
  • Shortness of breath
  • Fatigue
  • Muscle or body aches
  • New loss of taste or smell
  • Headache
  • Sore Throat
  • Runny nose or congestion
  • Diarrhea

Care Room Procedures:  If your child is exhibiting COVID symptoms, they will be escorted to the Care Room. A parent or other approved adult will be called and required to pick up the student immediately.

Community Compact: due prior to return or on the first day of school, if returning in person:

  1. Adhere to social distancing, wearing cloth face coverings or masks, and practicing good hand hygiene at school or home and in your social pods and community;
  2. Avoid large social gatherings, refrain from expanding your social circles, and pledge to keep your social circles small;
  3. Adhere to the City of Chicago’s Stay-at-Home advisory including quarantining for the appropriate number of days depending on the travel location;
  4. Observe and teach the same healthy hygiene habits we use at school at home: 20-second hand washing, appropriate use of face coverings, catching coughs and sneezes in a tissue or your elbow;
  5. Make the decision to stay home if you are sick or awaiting COVID-19 test results;
  6. Be an example for your children and neighbors in modeling safe, responsible behaviors and compassion for others.

Please return signed forms via email to your child’s teacher, or have your child bring the form to school the first day, if following the hybrid learning model, to turn in to your child’s homeroom teacher.
