Learning Resources
Dear Pre-K Parents:
As you all know due to our school closures we will be working on a different method of learning for our students. Both Mrs. Robin and I will be communicating with you weekly to provide you resources and helpful insights to keep our students learning throughout this time. In this email we will provide you with websites that will promote, literacy, math and other subjects that are of importance to our early learning students. "It’s a time when children learn critical social and emotional skills and a partnership is formed between the child, their parents and the teacher. When this is done successfully, it lays the groundwork for it to continue throughout the child’s education.”
Due to our circumstances we will work as a team to make our children feel safe and cared for by communicating with you on a weekly basis.
Attached with this email we will be providing you with helpful websites for our Preschool students and pdf’s to print out at home with worksheets to practice. Although preschool is based more on authentic work, due to these circumstances we are giving you the option of using them on a daily basis for practice. Do not have them work on all the sheets at one time. Please use them on a daily basis throughout the day.
The following are websites we’ve used in our classroom throughout the year and some new websites provided by CPS.
1. https://pbskids.org/
2. https://www.abcya.com/
3. https://www.starfall.com/h/
4. https://learnincolor.com
5. library.cps.edu/database
6. https://go.gale.com/ps/start.do? p=ITKE&u=chic19020
7. https://www.pebblego.com/
The following website is from Scholastic and you have the choice to sign up for it and it's free. In this website I strongly encourage you to play with it and enjoy with your kids the stories and videos they are a lot of fun. Connected to this is BookFlix which will provide you access to a lot of children’s books to keep your child listening to stories about topics commonly used throughout our units in creative curriculum. This month our topic is Pets and I saw a few books about pets and videos that were a lot of fun.

Here are some worksheets you can print for your child. As always, have your child practice writing their names, numbers 1-5 and the alphabet (upper case and lower case).
As always if you have any questions, please feel free to email me or Ms. Morales.

Good to Knows...
- Please make sure your child comes on time to school. School attendance is directly linked to school success. Please start showing your child that school is important and a priority even at the preschool level.
- Send your child to school with their folder and water bottle every day.
- Please provide an extra set of clothing for your child to keep in his or her cubby, just in case of an accident.
- Our school uniform policy includes all students, even Preschool. Please make sure to dress your children in our school uniform each day, unless it is an out of uniform day, which is listed on the calendar. (Link to calendar is at the top of the page.)
- For the safety of your child, please make sure we have current emergency phone numbers on file. Also, be sure all adults who are allowed to pick your child up from school are listed on the back of the emergency form.
